The Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities (ECRICC) project is a strategic alliance formed in 2019 to protect India’s vulnerable coastlines in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
This initiative is convergence of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Our Footprint in Odisha
In Odisha, we operate under the leadership of the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Odisha. Our work spans 4 districts (Balasore, Puri, Kendrapara, and Ganjam ) and 7 key landscapes, directly reaching nearly one million people.
Our initiative is backed by a total ivestment of ₹261.44 crore, funded through a partnership between the Green Climate Fund (₹117.44 crore) and co-financing (₹144 crore).
